Tag 2- The Song Tag

Bavani of The Journey of Life has tagged me. Here are the tag rules-

1. Choose a song that describes/represents “you” and post it on your blog. You can add a story to it if you want.

I thought about this for a long time and can't seem to find one song that would describe me the best, I have pieces from song picturization and lyrics that I relate to at different times in my life. Illyaraja's music is my greatest salvation and while there are numerous songs of his that I am crazy about, I have always loved his "How to Name It" and "Nothing But Wind" albums.

The first one is an instrumental fusion album. The tracks how many ever times I listen to, woo me into their music and my mood changes with this background score. I love the tracks that are used in the movies Mouna Raagam and Veedu.

Song : Illayaraja's How to Name It

Tag Completed....feel free to take it up if you would like to share the song that best describes you.

Happy Friday.........

That's a really beautiful piece - I'm just wondering why I have never heard it before??? Or maybe I have.
It's so interesting that you chose a piece of music with no words - makes me think :)

Do tell us how you liked The Mistress of Spices. Always wanted to read Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni's Sister of My Heart but never go to.

Two Things -

1. How is the novel "Mistress Of spices"? I watched half of the movie starring ash and I thought it was pretty neat. Ash's expressions were great which made me wonder how the words would have explained the thoughts of this lonely soulfull lady.

2. Noted down the Illyiaraja music albums. Are these instrumental? Have to look for them in Bangalore.

Madhavi- Glad you liked the post.

Krishnan- I recently read Mistress of Spices and was not overly impressed by the book. The pace of the novel was too slow for me. I would say Sister of My Heart is a betetr read.

Ajeya- 1. Thanks for sharing that the book Mistress of Spices was made into a movie w/ Ash, maybe the movie will be more enjoyable for me than the book itself was. The main character Tilo was too slow for me.

2. Yes, the albums are Illayaraja's instrumental pieces.

I recently read "The Palace of Illusion" by the same author - it is pretty much Mahabharata re-told from Draupadi's viewpoint and I thought it was pretty neat. Was thinking of reading of Mistress of Spices - now I doubt if I will :)

Nice to read your tag.

Just like you, I kind of got interested in the book(mistress of spices) by hearing about the movie.
The book was so OTT I haven't dared to watch the movie.
Meanwhile, I kind of tagged you:)
